I don’t think a wind turbine would fit on his brand new GAS HOGGING presidential limo. Solar panels maybe, but not a wind turbine.
Maybe he should lead by example.
Oh excuse me, did I say “lead by example”? What was I thinking!!!

When environmentalists quit b!tching about the noise generated by the windmills and the pollutants in the batteries used to store the solar power.

This is not a priority right now. We needs regular jobs and soon. The way back to work is where the stimulus needs to be. Forget tax reform. Forget companies bail outs. Forget foreign criminals, what we need is to get big business working and giving our jobs back.

Um – those things are already in production and have been for more than twenty years. All President Obama is saying is that it’d be a good idea to use the technology more..and intelligent people agree.

When does Obama start doing anything? He was going to pull troops out of Iraq in his first twenty four hours. What happened with that. He was going to do a lot of things in his first 100 hours. He will never live up to his promises.

First of all, it will be private companies that make, install, and operate wind, solar thermal, and commercial PV solar facilities. You probably realize that, but some of the right-wingers do not (deliberately or otherwise).
As far as clean energy goes, the most important component in the stimulus package is the construction of high-efficiency transmission lines, which will (finally) allow the generation of electricity in rural areas and sale in markets which need it. Additionally, there is a 10 year, $13 billion production tax credit, which helps greatly helps investors in such projects, as it provides a hedge against energy market volatility on the downside.

what would be cool is if solar panels were affordable so people could start to implement their own personal energy conservation efforts.
Obama is not going to make any of those things. He can subsidize them with Congress approval, but he’s President. Can’t imagine him rolling up his sleeves and climbing a turbine.
Are you as anxious for the stimulus to help pay for abortions and rubbers, and drug rehab programs, and the rest of the fluff that I suppose in some obscure way will help the economy in the super-far future.

They are locked and loaded. Plains states in the SW US are well along the process of acquiring land for installation and rights of way connecting the source to existing energy grids.
The industry cut back because of the recent/current economic situation, but is positioning itself to take advantage of the upcoming stimulus package.
In case you are interested (and own suitable land), each wind turbine constructed on your property will pay you a lifetime rent of between $7-14,000 per year plus annual increases of up to 10%.

Seriously, you believe him. Looking through his major election contributors I did not see a Solar panel manufacture or wind turbines. Usually GE plays both sides of the fence but they did not give him anything note worthy. I think the solar and wind technology talk was just verbiage we wanted to hear and believe from a politian but now that gas prices are below $2 I do not see this having a chance. I really wish that it did because with the GWB depression hitting us, this would be a perect time to change the way things are done….but considering all of the issues with Obama’s cabinet….Geithner, Daschle, Richardson, and Lynn,….and who knows what will happen with the others…I voted for change! Not for Changing out one corrupt group for another. I want my vore back.

He can waste a lot of money on feel-good, inefficient stuff like that. If he’s smart and not an eco-bigot, or isn’t suckered by or doesn’t sucks up to the insane eco-bigots, he’ll focus on nuclear power. That’s completely clean and an efficient source.
